Structure of the gums

A nice and appealing smile is a perfect combination of gums (red aesthetic) and teeth (white aesthetic).

Thin and vulnerable gums are prone to retraction when overstrained. In case of gingival disease, tooth necks could open up. Apart from a less attractive smile, your teeth are likely to become oversensitive.
