Periodontitis and general health

Most scientific studies on this topic show a possible relationship between periodontitis and the risk of the following diseases/dangers:

-         heart attack

-         stroke 

-         premature birth 

-         obstructive lung diseases

-         intestinal diseases

By the way: bad breath is often caused by decomposition products of periodontal bacteria.
